Principal Geotechnical Engineer\n Manchester | £50,000 - £55,000\n\nAn established engineering consultancy is looking to appoint a Principal Geotechnical Engineer to lead and grow their Manchester office. This is a senior opportunity for an experienced geotechnical professional who enjoys combining technical leadership, project delivery, and team development.\n\nThe role will involve taking responsibility for the technical direction, growth, and management of the Manchester geotechnical team, while delivering high-quality work across a range of infrastructure and development projects.\n\nThe Role\n\nLeading and developing the Manchester geotechnical team\nManaging the delivery of geotechnical and ground investigation projects\nProviding technical leadership on foundations, slopes, retaining structures, and earthworks\nOverseeing ground investigations, interpretation and geotechnical design\nBuilding and maintaining client relationships and supporting business development\nManaging project budgets, programmes and resource allocation\nMentoring and supporting junior engineers and engineering geologists\nSupporting the growth and strategic development of the Manchester officeRequirements\n\nDegree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Engineering Geology or related discipline\nExtensive experience in geotechnical consultancy\nStrong technical background in ground investigations and geotechnical design\nExperience managing projects, teams, and client relationships\nChartered or working towards Chartered Engineer (CEng) or Chartered Geologist (CGeol)\nCommercial awareness and the ability to help grow a regional officeBenefits\n\nCompetitive salary\nPerformance bonus\nHybrid working\nGenerous annual leave\nPension scheme\nClear pathway into senior leadership within the businessThis is an excellent opportunity for a senior geotechnical professional looking to step into an office leadership role, with the autonomy to help shape and grow the business in the North West
