Principal Highways Engineer\n\nPermanent role\n\n£45,000 - £58,000\n\nDurham OR North Yorkshire OR West Yorkshire - Hybrid working 2 days from home \n\nA Principal Highways Engineer is required to join a design consultancy in the north. You will be responsible for leading on work and projects within the highways civil engineering team, delivering infrastructure projects efficiently, cost effectively and to client standards and requirements, whilst providing support on various design and maintenance duties.\n\nPrincipal Highways Engineer - BENEFITS\n\nSalary - £45,000 - £58,000\nAnnual leave: 25 days holiday plus bank holidays with option to purchase up to 10 additional days leave per year\nPension scheme: up to 6% contribution\nHybrid working to support you in a healthy work-life balance\nOngoing professional development through varying project work\nFlexible working system allowing team members to accrue 1.5 days flexi time per month\nCycle2work scheme\nDiscounts from leading retailers\nGenerous maternity leave package \n\nPrincipal Highways Engineer - RESPONSIBILITIES\n\nProducing and reviewing design drawings and calculations\nConducting structural assessments and principal inspections / special inspections\nFeasibility and preparing other technical reports and documents\nDeveloping and presenting engineering options and solutions\nChecking design concepts, details, drawings, specifications, contract documents and other technical documents\nManaging and mentoring other members of the team\nDriving effective health and safety practices within the team, and completing risk assessments in coordination with the project CDM requirements\nLiaise with all relevant stakeholders, attending meetings, and conducting presentations of reports and progress for discussion\nWorking as part of the multi-discipline team, interacting with other design disciplines\nPreparing technical specifications and develop Bills of Quantities\nAttend site visits or client meetings, carry out inspections and surveys as/when required so you must have the ability to travel to site around North Yorkshire when required \n\nPrincipal Highways Engineer - REQUIREMENTS\n\nDegree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent appropriate discipline\nSignificant experience in highway design and construction.\nExperience in major infrastructure or resource projects within consultancies.\nKnowledge in preparing detailed designs and specifications using PDS and/or Civils 3D, AutoCAD, MicroDrainage etc\nAble to build relationships and influence, develop and motivate both internally and externally\nUnderstanding other building and engineering related disciplines OR requirements of these in the effective design, co-ordination and delivery of projects.\nUnderstanding and experience of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015\nA full UK driving license\nIdeal candidates will be working towards becoming a chartered or incorporated engineer, but this is not required.--- Fusion People are committed to promoting equal opportunities to people regardless of , gender, , belief, , sexuality or .
