Job Description

We’re looking for an experienced Principal Medical Writer to join a small, highly collaborative medical communications agency working across complex therapy areas and strategic medical affairs programmes.


This is a senior, hands-on role for an experienced Principal Medical Writer who values quality, collaboration and real involvement in the work. You’ll remain close to the science, contributing directly through writing, review and approvals, while supporting and developing more junior writers.


The role

You’ll work across a varied mix of medical affairs and publications, with a strong emphasis on strategic, insight-led medical work.

  • Lead and deliver medical affairs projects including symposia, advisory boards and related materials
  • Contribute to publication planning and delivery
  • Write, review and approve materials to a high scientific standard
  • Act as a senior scientific voice within project teams
  • Support and mentor junior writers through day-to-day collaboration
  • Work closely with senior leadership on shaping content and scientific approach


About you

  • Operating at Principal Medical Writer level
  • Strong experience in medical affairs (essential) with exposure to publications
  • Background in oncology and/or rare diseases
  • Confident, detail-driven writer who enjoys staying hands-on
  • Comfortable working in a small agency where everyone contributes
  • A collaborative team player who values knowledge-sharing
