Job Description

Location: Central Manchester (City Centre)\n Salary: £55,000-£60,000+ (DOE) + progression\n\nThe Opportunity\n\nWe're working with a highly respected multi disciplinary consultancy that is expanding its presence in Manchester and looking to appoint a Principal or Associate Geo-Environmental Engineer to help lead that growth.\n\nImportantly, this is not a start-from-scratch role. The business already has a well-established client base, a strong regional pipeline of work, and an experienced technical and field team in place to support delivery.\n\nThis role offers the chance to step into a senior leadership position, working closely with the Director to develop the Manchester city-centre Geo team, strengthen existing client relationships, and drive further local business development.\n\nPrincipal or Associate Geo-Environmental Engineer Key Responsibilities\n\nLead and deliver a wide range of ground investigations and contaminated land projects\nAuthor and review Phase 1 & Phase 2 reports, risk assessments, remediation strategies, validation reports and due diligence\nProvide geotechnical input and foundation recommendations\nWork alongside an established technical and site investigation team to ensure high-quality delivery\nSupport and lead bids, tenders and client development activities, building on an existing client base\nAssist the Director with financial control, budgets and strategic planning\nMentor staff and help grow a Manchester-based Geo-Environmental teamPrincipal or Associate Geo-Environmental Engineer - About You\n\n8+ years' experience in Geo-Environmental / Geotechnical consultancy\nChartered (Geological Society, IES, ICE or equivalent)\nStrong technical capability across contaminated land and GI\nHighly competent technical author and reviewer\nCommercially aware with experience in business development and client engagement\nMotivated to step into a leadership role within an established, supportive businessWhy This Role?\n\nStep into leadership without the risk of an empty pipeline\nEstablished clients, frameworks and delivery teams already in place\nOpportunity to shape and grow a city-centre Manchester Geo team\nClose collaboration with senior leadership\nClear progression beyond Principal / Associate levelIf you're a Principal or Associate Geo-Environmental Engineer looking to level up within a stable, well-supported consultancy, this is a role worth exploring\n\nCalibre Search promote equality in the workplace and we welcome applications from all suitably skilled or qualified candidates regardless of their , , , /beliefs, sexual or age.
