Principal Radiation Protection Consultant Flexible, UK + Hybrid Working Arrangement Full time / Permanent Up to £81,000 + Benefits Overview An opportunity to join a team of radiation protection specialists working on a major defence programme across multiple sites. Responsibilities
Provide competent guidance and advice on radiological safety. Engage with multi-discipline teams to ensure the design and operation of processes and plant is demonstrably ALARP. Ensure that procedures are correctly applied to technical activities. Coordinate the production of radiological protection documents such as Normal Operational Dose Uptake Assessments, Radiological Zoning, Risk Assessments, ALARP Assessments, Operating Instructions and compliance statements. Contribute to project scheduling, defining relevant deliverables, identifying dependencies and estimating resourcing, time and cost requirements. Act as a technical expert for Radiation Protection on a major defence project, spending some time at client sites. Lead technical delivery of other Radiation Protection personnel.
Experience
Proven experience in a radiation protection role is essential. Clear ability to lead a technical team is essential. Experience interfacing with Safety Case personnel and other technical disciplines is desirable. Experience designing new processes and facilities is desirable.
Qualifications
RPA2000 Certified Radiation Protection Adviser is essential.
