Up to £125,000 + Benefits • 4 days onsite (London, Paddington) FinTech / Payments Sector We’re supporting a high‑growth FinTech scale‑up that has rapidly become one of the most recognised names in the payments space. They’re investing heavily in security and are looking for a Principal Security Architect to lead and shape security architecture across their cloud‑native engineering organisation. This is a high-impact position where you’ll set the benchmark for secure design, drive cloud and Kubernetes security standards, and guide engineering teams building critical financial products used by thousands of businesses. What you’ll do
Define and own the security architecture strategy across the entire engineering function. Lead threat modelling, secure design reviews and architecture governance for high-scale financial systems. Establish secure cloud patterns across GCP, AWS and Azure environments. Drive container and Kubernetes security maturity. Partner with senior engineering leaders to embed security-by-design. Shape defence‑in‑depth enterprise security systems across the platform.
What you’ll bring
Extensive experience in cloud security architecture (GCP/AWS/Azure). Deep knowledge of Kubernetes and container security. Strong background in threat modelling and secure system design. Experience integrating security into SDLC and CI/CD. Ability to influence at senior engineering and leadership levels. Comfortable in fast-moving, innovative scale-up environments.
