Principal Speech and Language Therapist

Job Type: Permanent, Term-Time (with paid school holidays)

Hours: 35 hours per week

Holiday Entitlement: 10 weeks (to be taken within school holidays)


The Role

Are you ready to lead, inspire, and make a lasting impact? We are seeking a dynamic Principal Speech and Language Therapist to lead and drive therapy provision within a specialist autism school, shaping the future of autism practice.

This role places you at the heart of embedding therapy into daily classroom life, ensuring every child receives the tailored support they deserve. As part of the Senior Leadership Team, you will guide a dedicated school-based team of therapists, implement the latest evidence-based strategies, and work collaboratively with families to strengthen parental engagement and create meaningful, lasting change across the family unit.

About the School

Our client is a well-established specialist school supporting autistic children and young people with a complex profile of need. Pupils receive highly individualised support, with therapy fully embedded into school life to ensure continuity and maximum impact.


About You

We are looking for an experienced Speech and Language Therapist with a genuine passion for autism practice and working with children and young people.

You will be:

  • Patient, inspiring, caring and sensitive towards the needs of vulnerable people
  • A strong communicator, able to report and record information accurately
  • A collaborative team player who can also work independently when required
  • Resilient and proactive when working with complex and challenging behaviour
