About the Role

An established and growing law firm is seeking an experienced Private Client Solicitor to join its well-regarded team in Nottingham. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated solicitor to work with a diverse client base, including high-net-worth and mass affluent individuals, delivering high-quality legal advice across a broad range of private client matters.

The successful candidate will play a key role in managing a varied caseload, building strong client relationships, and contributing to the continued success and growth of the Private Client department.

Please note that occasional travel and some out-of-hours work may be required for client meetings, networking, and professional development activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a broad and varied Private Client caseload including:
• Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs)
• Probate and Estate Administration
• Inheritance Tax (IHT) Planning
• Estate and Succession Planning
• Trusts and Lifetime Planning
• Deliver high-quality, client-focused legal advice in line with professional standards
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, referrers, and professional contacts
• Work effectively to meet deadlines and performance targets
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, quality, and risk management procedures
• Support business development and contribute to the growth of the department
• Maintain accurate records using case management systems
• Demonstrate continuous professional development and technical excellence

Skills and Experience Required

• Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales
• 3–5 years’ PQE in Private Client law (or equivalent experience)
• Proven experience handling matters such as:
• Wills and Probate
• Estate Administration
• Inheritance Tax Planning
• Trusts and Estate Planning
• Strong communication and client relationship management skills
• Excellent organisational and time management abilities
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines
• Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to client service
• Experience supporting business development initiatives
• Proficiency in case management systems and Microsoft Office
• A collaborative team player with a professional and positive attitude

Desirable Experience

• Experience advising high-net-worth or complex estate clients
• STEP qualification or working towards accreditation
• Experience in business development or networking within the local Nottingham market
