The Role & The Work

A well-established Scottish firm with a strong reputation across the legal market is seeking a Private Client Solicitor to join its expanding L500 team in Aberdeen.

This opportunity comes at an exciting time for the firm’s Private Client practice. The team has seen a significant increase in high-profile and high-net-worth clients, creating the need to further strengthen its offering in Aberdeen. As a result, the firm is investing in the continued growth of the department, providing an excellent platform for Private Client lawyers who want to be part of a team with genuine momentum.

You will join a Tier 3 ranked Private Client team known for delivering thoughtful, relationship-driven advice to individuals and families across Scotland and beyond. The work is varied, intellectually engaging and often deeply personal, requiring lawyers who can combine strong technical ability with empathy and clear communication.

Day-to-day, you will advise clients on wills, powers of attorney and lifetime planning, support families with succession planning and asset protection, and guide executors and trustees through the administration of executry and trust estates. Many of the matters involve high-value estates and complex family wealth structures, providing excellent exposure to sophisticated private client work.

Beyond the technical work, this role offers the opportunity to become a trusted adviser to clients over the long term, supporting them through key life decisions while building lasting professional relationships.

As the practice continues to grow, there will also be opportunities to shape the future of the team, contribute to client development and play an active role in strengthening the firm’s Private Client presence in the north-east of Scotland.

Your Experience

• Qualified Scottish Solicitor with experience in Private Client work
• Experience advising on matters such as wills, powers of attorney, executries and estate administration
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusted relationships with clients
• A proactive and organised approach to managing a varied caseload
• A genuine interest in developing expertise in Private Client
• STEP qualification, or a willingness to pursue it, would be ideal
• A collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for contributing to a growing team
