Application Deadline: 24 April 2026 Department: Private Client Advisory Location: Glasgow Role Purpose Key duties & responsibilities:
Oversee and lead client projects, effectively project managing challenging technical advice Managing and building client relationships Delivering strategic advisory services across private client Be a vital part of the management team involved with day‑to‑day team operations, ensuring internal and external targets and deadlines are met, including supporting the leadership team in setting and delivering the strategic objectives of the department Play an active role in the development and growth of the firm by identifying and progressing opportunities to promote the business in the marketplace, seeking new opportunities and securing new work, with the support of the business development team Be recognised as a “go to” technical expert in all areas of private client advice, such as Inheritance Tax, Trusts, Estates, succession planning and shareholder transactions and present as a specialist both internally and externally Review and sign off complex Self Assessment Tax Returns Liaise with external advisors as appropriate to deliver high level tax advice Provide quality briefing to staff on delegation of work, with appropriate and ongoing support Continually and independently develop technical expertise to maintain market‑leading specialist client service, sharing technical expertise with clients and wider market Take responsibility for sharing technical expertise across the team and wider firm to manage and facilitate development of connected service lines Build practical solutions, offer recommendations and be able to demonstrate to clients the value of this work, with due regard for risk Actively maintain long‑standing, trusted client relationships on behalf of the firm
Experience & Qualifications
Relevant professional tax qualification (e.g. CA, ATT, CTA, STEP or similar) Previous experience of working in a similar role including particular technical experience as detailed above. A knowledge of Irish Capital Taxes (CGT, CAT) and their interaction with their UK counterpart taxes is desirable. Expertise in advisory work Track record of handling a number of projects at one time Experience of managing a team Use of tax software Ability to undertake independent technical research, preferably using Tolleys Guidance/ Library
