Role - Process Control Engineer (Inside IR35)

Location - Lisburn


This person will join the Monitoring and Diagnostics team whos mission is to develop state of the art monitoring technologies, generally deployed in an Electrical Substation, allowing a customer to understand and optimize the operating condition of their Electrical Power Transformers, circuit breakers and other substation assets.


The candidate will be responsible for delivering a wide range of projects to support the growth of our business, Improve and/or develop global supply chain processes and to improve product quality by using lean and 6 sigma approach and effectively working in a cross-functional environment.

Responsibilities


  • New Product Introduction (NPI) Project planning and execution of tasks to set timeline

· Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders and management.

  • Lead the development and execution of process validation plans, including Design of Experiments (DOE), Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), and statistical process control (SPC).
  • Collaborate with the product development team during the design and prototyping stages to ensure manufacturability and cost-effectiveness
  • Provide input on design for manufacturability (DFM), design for assembly (DFA) and design for test (DFT)
  • Improve H&S and Ergonomics in production cells
  • Learn and apply lean tools and technics
  • Develop and implement Process improvement through Assembly and test automation
  • Create, review and up-date process documentation as required
  • Analysis of existing processes and execution of improvements
  • Root cause analysis of reported production and process issues
  • Collaborate with the quality team to establish quality control measures, standards, and procedures
  • Collaborate with production teams to provide support in troubleshooting manufacturing problems
  • Review Production line Layout and re-structuring
  • Support of daily production activities

Essential Criteria

  • Fluency in spoken and written English is essential.
  • Degree in Engineering/Science (preferably Manufacturing, Industrial, Electrical and Mechanical, but all considered)
  • Competency with Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel
  • Demonstrated time management capability
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and systems
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment or independently on multiple projects with strict completion deadlines.
  • Good writing skills, accuracy and an eye for detail.

Desired Criteria

  • Previous industrial work experience
  • Ability to collaborate across various functions and levels within the operations team
  • Confident at programming in excel and managing or developing databases/macros
  • Experience with Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies
  • Familiar with programming language example Labview
  • Familiar with general purpose test equipment
  • Motivated to eliminate waste
