Job Description
Process Safety / HSE Manager
Location: Manchester
Type: Permanent
Salary: Competitive + Benefits
SRG are currently recruiting for a Process Safety / Health and Safety Manager for a successful and growing manufacturing client based in the Manchester area.
Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
Process Safety Leadership
Develop and own the Process Safety Management System (PSMS) aligned with UK law and standards (ISO 45001, ISO 14001)
Lead HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA studies and define/verify Safety Instrumented Functions (SIF/SIL)
Drive compliance with DSEAR and implement robust safety measures.
Health & Safety Leadership
Ensure all site activities are conducted safely, maintaining zero TIR
Own site risk assessments, SOPs, and integrate with training/competence matrices
Govern Permit-to-Work systems and ensure effective LOTO
Lead accident investigations using root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
Manage contractor control and CDM 2015 duties for projects.
Engineering Management
Oversee the engineering team, fostering innovation and continuous improvement
Ensure preventative maintenance and mandatory checks for equipment reliability
Utilise CMMS for planned maintenance and KPI reporting.
About you:
NEBOSH Diploma (or NVQ Level 6) and IOSH/BOHS membership (GradIOSH/CMIOSH)
Chartered status or working towards it & Engineering degree (desirable)
Proven leadership in HSE and process safety within a regulated or high-hazard environment
Strong knowledge of DSEAR, process safety, and engineering best practices
Competence in HAZOP/LOPA, ATEX zoning, and permit-to-work systems
Incident investigation expertise and evidence of delivering risk-reducing improvements.
