Role: Graduate supply chain buyer

Location: Bristol city centre

Onsite: 4x days per week with Friday as WFH

Salary: £27,000 - £30,000 + Guaranteed Bonus which adds on up to £6,000 per year

We are seeking a graduate Procurement Officer preferably from a Defence Sector background to join our Procurement Team.

As a Graduate Procurement Officer, you will be responsible for the day-to-day Operational Performance oversight.

You will be integral to delivering innovative supply chain solutions to support further growth opportunities pursed by the business.

We will teach you everything you need, all you need is good excel skills and the passion to succeed!

Main duties

• Convert Purchase Requestions to Purchase Orders and issue to suppliers.
• Prepare, Issue and Review supplier RFQ’s, recommending preferred options to all relevant Stakeholders.
• Ensure materials are bought in line with Project and Customer requirements.
• Identify resolution for critical path supply.
• Responsible for developing and maintaining key supplier relationships and support supplier performance improvement.
• Take ownership of Order Book Management activities.
• Manage Goods in and Invoice queries associated with your orderbook.
• Ensure data accuracy of the ERP system is maintained with valid pricing and purchase requirements.
• Support the Procurement Manager in the tendering and sourcing process in accordance with agreed project deliverables.
• Support in Strategic Sourcing to ensure best practice sourcing and pricing portfolio is achieved.
• Confidently negotiate and agree Terms and Conditions, and contractual agreements including the flow-down and management of KPI’s.

Professional Skills / Abilities:

• Able to establish strong relationships with key stakeholders across the business.
• Good understanding of Project Management.
• Must be self-motivated with a flexible approach to workload.
• Excellent I.T. Skills (Microsoft Excel essential).
• Microsoft Project skills desirable but not essential.
• Strong attention to detail (essential).
• Data analysis skills.
• Basic understanding of engineering (desirable).

Experience & Qualifications

• Educated to Degree Level Qualification (or working towards) in relevant subject.
• Membership of a relevant professional body e.g., APM (desirable but not essential).
• Proven Project Management Experience in an Operational Procurement Environment in the Defence Sector (preferred).
• MRP Skills (IFS desirable but not essential).
• Full Driving License and willingness to travel.
