This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading public sector organisation embarking on a transformative infrastructure project. Based in Birmingham, this role offers the chance to manage a diverse range of indirect procurement projects within a complex, high-profile environment. You’ll play a key role in delivering vital procurement initiatives that will contribute to a major infrastructure programme that will shape the future.
As Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for managing the entire procurement lifecycle, from requirement definition through to contract award. You will work closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure compliance, drive value for money, and maintain the highest standards of governance.
Essential Requirements:
Experience in public sector indirect procurement (central government, NHS, local government, etc.)
Proven end-to-end procurement experience, from defining requirements to contract award - specifically in indirect
Strong ability to manage multiple procurement projects simultaneously in a high-pressure environment
Experience using public sector frameworks (CCS, ESPO, NHS SBS, etc.)
Self-starter with the ability to lead procurement processes independently
Strong relationship management skills with suppliers and internal teams
Familiarity with the Procurement Act 2023/regulatory frameworks
Desirable:
Experience in procuring complex and large-value contracts
Background in managing categories such as HR consultancy, business operations, and engineering consultancy
