Procurement Specialist

We’re working with a well-established public sector organisation who are looking to appoint a Procurement Specialist (Maternity Cover) to join their Commercial Team.
The role: This is a service-critical position where you’ll play a key role in delivering a compliant, efficient, and value-driven procurement service. You’ll manage the full procurement lifecycle while working closely with stakeholders to drive cost savings, reduce risk, and ensure best practice across the organisation.
Key responsibilities include:
* Managing end-to-end procurement processes across a range of categories
* Identifying cost-saving opportunities and delivering value for money
* Ensuring compliance with procurement legislation, policies, and best practice
* Working closely with internal stakeholders and external partners
* Managing contracts and maintaining accurate documentation for audit purposes
* Analysing financial data and contract registers to forecast and improve spend
* Embedding social value, sustainability, and ethical procurement principles
* Delivering guidance and training to improve commercial awareness
What we’re looking for:
* Experience managing procurement processes within a public sector environment
* Strong knowledge of procurement legislation (including Procurement Act 2023)
* Working towards or holding CIPS Level 4 (or above)
* Experience using e-tendering systems
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data
* Confident communicator who can engage with stakeholders at all levels
