Responsibilities
Key duties and expectations for the Procurement Specialist include:
Providing expert procurement strategy, advice, and guidance to Defence clients.
Identifying, sourcing, and acquiring goods and services, ensuring compliance with public sector regulations.
Developing and executing procurement strategies that align with client objectives.
Preparing and managing tender packs, and facilitating the tendering process.
Negotiating and drafting contracts, and managing contract changes collaboratively.
Cultivating strategic relationships with suppliers.
Collaborating on end-to-end procurement services for major projects.
Essential Skills & Experience
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:
Proven experience in procurement within defence, construction, or infrastructure sectors.
Extensive knowledge of Procurement and Contract Management in both sole-source and competitive environments.
Familiarity with New Engineering Contract (NEC3/NEC4) and Joint Contracts Tribunal (JCT) frameworks.
Strong communication skills with the ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships.
Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
Professional qualifications in Business, Procurement/Supply Chain Management, Law, or Project Management, or equivalent relevant experience.
Desirable Skills & Experience
Candidates with the following skills and experiences will be viewed favourably:
Additional experience in Qualifying Defence Contracts (QDC) and Defence and Security Public Contracting Regulations (DSPCR).
Experience in managing internal and external communications involving senior stakeholders.
