Product Development Engineer - Mechatronics

We are seeking a Product Development Engineer with experience in mechatronics and rotating equipment to join an innovative engineering team. The role covers the full product lifecycle from concept design and simulation through prototyping, testing, validation and production release.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop mechanical and electromechanical products from concept through to production.
* Design and analyse rotating equipment including motors, pumps, fans and blowers.
* Create 3D CAD models, detailed engineering drawings, tolerance analyses and technical documentation.
* Integrate mechanical systems into larger assemblies used in cooling systems and airflow management.
* Collaborate with manufacturing teams to optimise designs for manufacturability and production efficiency.
* Support design reviews, DFMEA/PFMEA activities and cost optimisation initiatives.
* Assist with prototype builds and conduct testing including airflow, vibration, acoustic and thermal performance.
* Troubleshoot mechanical issues identified during testing or production.
* Ensure designs meet relevant engineering standards, safety requirements and performance specifications.
* Maintain clear documentation including BOMs, specifications, test reports and engineering change records.
Skills & Experience
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or a related discipline.
* Experience developing mechanical or electromechanical products involving rotating equipment.
* Knowledge of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, vibration and acoustic behaviour.
* Strong 3D CAD skills (SolidWorks, Solid Edge, Inventor, ANSYS or similar).
* Understanding of engineering materials, manufacturing processes and mechanical assembly methods.
* Experience working within product development or engineering project environments.
* Strong analytical problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional engineering teams
