We’re working on a confidential search for a global procurement services provider that’s setting the pace when it comes to digital transformation in procurement. With substantial resources, a strong leadership team, and a clear commitment to innovation, this organisation is at the forefront of deploying cutting-edge technology to drive better outcomes for its clients.
They’ve already made significant investments in best-of-breed digital procurement tools and are now seeking a senior specialist to lead their orchestration capability — both internally and as a commercial solution for clients.
The Role:
This is a rare opportunity to define and lead the orchestration strategy for a true procurement innovator. You’ll take ownership of their intake and orchestration stack, integrating seamlessly with back-end systems and pioneering a scalable framework that will eventually be rolled out to major clients across industries.
You'll bring deep expertise in procurement process design and be comfortable translating complex business needs into user-centric, technology-enabled workflows. This role combines strategic ownership, product leadership, and cross-functional collaboration – with the remit to shape how procurement is orchestrated across an enterprise landscape.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Ownership: Define and drive the vision, roadmap and implementation of the orchestration stack, ensuring alignment with broader digital procurement strategy.
- Framework Design: Develop detailed orchestration frameworks, decision trees, and process flows, with a strong focus on user experience, policy alignment, and scalable deployment.
- Integration Leadership: Lead integration across intake-to-pay touchpoints (e.g. guided buying, sourcing, CLM, PR creation), ensuring data synchronisation and interoperability with ERP and other platforms.
- Product Leadership: Manage the orchestration product backlog, prioritising development efforts based on business impact and end-user value. Engage directly with technology partners to influence roadmap direction.
- Change Management: Own the adoption journey — from stakeholder engagement and training to ongoing improvement and incident resolution.
- Innovation Focus: Stay ahead of market trends, identifying opportunities to embed automation, prescriptive analytics, and agentic AI into orchestration workflows.
- Team Building: Over time, you’ll have the opportunity to build a team focused on broader solution adoption — hiring specialists in adjacent domains such as autonomous sourcing, CLM, and data-led optimisation.
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience in designing and implementing procurement orchestration solutions — ideally within a complex, fast-paced environment.
- Strong knowledge of procurement operating models, intake-to-pay workflows, and digital procurement ecosystems.
- Experience as a Product Owner or in a similar leadership role, with a track record of successful technology-enabled process improvement.
- You may come from an in-house digital procurement team, a specialist consultancy, or a leading orchestration solution provider — what matters most is your ability to lead transformation and deliver impact.
- Deep familiarity with best-of-breed tools in procurement (e.g. orchestration, sourcing, CLM), including integration with ERP systems and APIs.
- Comfortable engaging cross-functional stakeholders and leading change in both internal and client-facing settings.
- Familiarity with agile product development and methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma or SAFe is an advantage.
- Strong communication, influencing, and problem-solving skills.
Why This Role?
- Opportunity to build something lasting – shaping orchestration as a scalable service offering for enterprise clients.
- Influence a digital-first roadmap with leadership buy-in and significant investment behind it.
- Work with an ambitious, cross-functional team operating at the frontier of procurement innovation.
- Build and lead a future-facing team of solution experts across key digital domains.
- Competitive salary, bonus and benefits package including enhanced pension, wellbeing support and access to extensive learning resources.
If you have a background in procurement technology, digital transformation, or product leadership within a procurement context — and you’re excited by the chance to shape the next wave of digital procurement capability — we’d love to hear from you.
