About us

B4B Payments is part of the Banking Circle Group, a 1,000+ person ecosystem owned by the EQT investment organisation, which also includes Banking Circle (global payments, accounts, liquidity, and FX for financial institutions and regulated businesses), and YOULEND (revenue-based financing).

B4B Payments is a fast-growing BaaS (Banking-as-a-Service) and embedded payment services provider offering card issuing and BIN sponsorship, and accounts, payments and FX to businesses, with the tools, APIs and infrastructure to allow clients and partners to build cutting-edge financial services. The B4B Payments leadership team has extensive payments experience, and is committed to driving continued growth and scale as we expand internationally, with a presence in the UK, Europe and US.

We operate as an independent affiliate of Banking Circle, and while we are separate companies, we work closely together to deliver a market-competitive, and continually evolving product offering that augments established EMI licensed cards capabilities from B4B Payments with world-class payments, accounts and FX capabilities from Banking Circle. We are a global and diverse team, with our headquarters in London (UK), and offices in Newcastle (UK), Vilnius (Lithuania) and Boston (US).

About the role

You will drive outcome-focused product strategies that support cards volume growth, and deliver great E2E cards user experiences. You will be based out of our London office, working closely with product, engineering, sales and other team members, and external partners (e.g. Thredd, Mastercard, Visa).

You’ll be the single‑threaded owner for cards, responsible for the E2E cards offerings across the UK, EU and the US. You will be responsible for the cards product roadmap, vision and strategy, translating requirements into delivery, and optimising our cards capabilities for scale across the platform and multiple user journeys and touchpoints.

We are looking for someone who is a proactive self-starter, can operate independently with degrees of ambiguity, and is ready to roll up their sleeves and get things done. Curiosity, a drive to learn, and problem-solving ability will be critical in the role.

Being able to move up and down levels of abstraction from high level client needs to detailed engineering requirements will be important. You will need to be comfortable or curious with using AI tooling to accelerate research, ideation, and prototyping.

In the role you will:

  • Own cards outcomes and the cards roadmap - own vision and cards outcomes that enable growth and optimised user experiences, incorporating client feedback and insight, market trends, company goals, and scale aspirations. Understand and optimise E2E user journeys, and UI and API delivery channels.

  • Drive prioritised development and delivery - prioritise and sequence build and execution based on client needs, business impact, regulatory and scheme requirements, and technical tradeoffs. Manage the product lifecycle, from PRDs through to launch, with a focus on iterative shipping. Write epics, user stories and acceptance criteria; align sprint goals with external deadlines.

  • Engage clients and partners and feedback loops - run discovery sessions and feedback loops to understand client needs and for greater client empathy; validate that solutions address client needs and scale across use cases and geographies.

  • Measure and optimise - define and track metrics like time to activation / time to transaction rates, fraud reduction, and user retention, and use data to iterate and ultimately drive improved client satisfaction / NPS and meaningful volume growth.

  • Manage stakeholders and alignment - align engineering and other internal team members and stakeholders through working sessions, steering and prioritisation sessions, and planning activities.

  • Leverage AI to accelerate product development - utilise AI / LLM tools such as Claude, Gemini, ChatGPT, Lovable, Cursor, etc., for research and discovery, user feedback and support ticket analysis, rapid prototyping, and technical design and validation.

  • Leverage AI to improve product experiences where appropriate - utilise AI / LLM capabilities across the E2E product experience and journeys, e.g. workflow automation, conversational reporting, streamlined customer support, spend controls and analytics, etc.

What you will need:

  • 3-5+ years in a Product role, or high‑performing Business Analyst / Project Manager roles with a product thinking mindset, delivering cards issuing or processing solutions - ideally in a fintech, tech company, financial services company, or bank (cards experience preferred but not essential)

  • Cards domain knowledge or experience in the financial services industry, e.g. cards issuance lifecycles; card and BIN types and use cases including prepaid, debit, payouts and expenses; JIT funding and dynamic spend/velocity controls; tokenisation and wallets; 3DS2/SCA; PCI; regionalisation; issuing experience within an EMI context; BIN sponsorship/management; card manufacturing/fulfilment knowledge (preferred but not essential)

  • Experience building tech products at the heart of the action - working directly with engineers, talking to clients, engaging with internal stakeholders and external third parties, and progressing requirements through the end-to-end development lifecycle

  • Experience working and building with API-first solutions, and familiarity with API concepts (cloud concepts are a nice to have but not essential)

  • Experience working in an agile / scrum environment and continuously reviewing client and business needs, opportunities, priorities, milestones and deliverables, and compliance and operational risks

  • Experience with client-centric development and the ability to empathise with clients and users to deliver world-class user experiences and usability (UX/visual design skills are a nice to have but not essential)

  • Experience with written culture for PRDs / product one pagers, vision and strategy docs, internal and external communications, and product documentation and other artefacts

  • Experience with AI solutions and the ability to research and prototype with AI / LLM tools such as Claude, Gemini, ChatGPT, Lovable, Cursor, etc.

  • English fluency is required for both speaking and writing

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, and the ability to understand and concisely explain complex concepts

  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, and high self-motivation and the ability to manage your own time effectively

The interview process:

  • Recruiter call
  • Initial call with one of our Product team members
  • Skills and domain assessment call with the CPO and CTO
  • Cultural fit assessment with a Product team member and engineering tech lead
