Job Title: Production Engineer
Location: Farnworth, Bolton
Salary: £36,000 to £42,000 per annum (dependant on experience)
Job Type: Full time, Permanent
Working Hours: Mon-Thurs 07:30 to 16:00/Fri 07:30 to 12:50 (38 hours)

About the Role:
The role is responsible for all engineering activities required to support production and meet product specifications. This includes providing clear technical information and feedback to both the Engineering and Production departments, as well as delivering technical and cost analysis for tooling, jigs, and manufacturing methods. The Production Engineer will also support the introduction and industrialisation of new products.
Main Duties:
Design and develop jigs and fixtures to support efficient manufacture in production, covering milling, turning, and secondary operations. These tools should improve setup times, enhance repeatability, and promote better ergonomics and safety on the shop floor.
Manage tooling and fixture lifecycle-maintenance, calibration, and continuous improvement.
Create, edit, and verify CNC programs (Fanuc / Heidenhain / Siemens, as applicable).
Develop and optimise machining processes for CNC milling and turning (lathes)-from method selection to cycle-time reduction and quality assurance.
Own CI projects with defined baselines, targets, and benefits tracking (cycle time, scrap, changeover, right-first-time).
Provide hands-on floor support for setup issues, technical bottlenecks, and process deviations.
Train operators and setters on new processes, programs, fixtures, and best practices.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Planning, Design, Quality, and Maintenance.
Maintain process documentation, CNC program control, tool sheets, and routings/BOMs.What We're Looking for:

CAD experience (i.e. Solidworks, AutoCAD inventor)
Experience in the heating element industry would be an advantageEducation and training
HND or Degree qualified in a suitable engineering, Technical or Mechanical discipline.Benefits:
