The Production Engineer will play a key role in optimising manufacturing processes, ensuring efficiency and high-quality output within the industrial and manufacturing sector. This position is based in Rochdale and focuses on enhancing production methods and supporting engineering operations.

This long‑established engineering operation in Rochdale specialises in Manufacturing and Production of advanced special machinery, developed over more than a century of innovation. The site employs around 200 people and contributes significantly to high‑end production for the rubber and tyre industries, serving major manufacturers worldwide. It forms part of a larger international industrial group created through the consolidation of several long‑standing engineering firms, enabling it to leverage shared expertise, global manufacturing capacity, and strong technological heritage. Known for its continuous improvement initiatives and investment in efficiency, the facility plays a critical role in delivering precision‑engineered equipment used across automotive and industrial applications.

Description

As the Production Engineer you will be tasked with the following;

· CAD knowledge (Solidworks)

· Experience of 4 and 5-axis machining techniques

· Experience of CNC Lathes

· Execution of manufacturing engineering tasks to deadlines

· Creation of process specifications

· Support the department with Routings, BOMs, Production Orders, Costings

· Knowledge of ERP systems preferably SAP

· Provide support and expertise to optimise and improve process capability and yield

· Ability to interface with internal and external stakeholders eg, Purchasing, Engineering, Group etc Adherence to Health and Safety procedures

Profile

A successful Production Engineer should have:

HNC/HND as a minimum qualification within engineering.
Proficiency in production process optimisation techniques.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Experience in the industrial and manufacturing sector.
Familiarity with health and safety regulations in a manufacturing environment.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Capability to work with technical documentation and production metrics.
