Production Maintenance Engineer

JRL Modular are looking for a Production Maintenance Engineer that would be interested in a permanent role running maintenance. No previous manufacturing experience is required as full training would be provided. Previous construction experience is an advantage but again not essential.
The Production Maintenance Engineer is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of all machinery, equipment, and facilities. This role focuses on minimising downtime, improving reliability, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the organisation.
Working shift Pattern:
Monday to Thursday – 7.30am to 4.00pm / Friday 7.30am to 3.00pm but paid until 4.00pm = 40 hours per week
Key Responsibilities:
Planned Preventive Maintenance: Develop and execute scheduled maintenance plans to ensure optimal performance and  longevity of production machinery and equipment.
Reactive Maintenance: Respond promptly to breakdowns, diagnose faults, and carry out repairs to minimise downtime and maintain production targets
Production Machinery Expertise: Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair a wide range of production machinery, including roll forming machinery, Beam / Panel Saws
General Maintenance: Carry out building maintenance, responding promptly to repair issues around office and factories.
Installation & Commissioning: Assist with the installation, testing, and commissioning of new machinery and equipment, ensuring compliance with manufacturer specifications.
Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, efficiency, and safety through process optimization and engineering solutions.
Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and spare parts usage in the CMMS.
Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations, including lockout/tagout procedures.
Collaboration: Work closely with production teams to minimize disruption and support operational goals.
Inventory Management: Monitor and manage spare parts inventory, liaising with suppliers to ensure timely availability of critical components.
Key Skills
Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer or similar role in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
Strong mechanical and/or electrical engineering skills.
Ability to read technical drawings and schematics.
Knowledge of health and safety standards.
Hands-on experience with production machinery.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good communication and organisational skills.
Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
