TXM Recruit is currently recruiting for two Production Managers on behalf of a leading UK rail freight and asset management organisation. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established engineering operation and play a key role in the maintenance and management of traction and rolling stock assets.
The Role As Production Manager, you will lead and direct traction and rolling stock maintenance activities at the Stoke depot and support other UK sites as required. You will be responsible for ensuring maintenance activities are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with technical, quality, and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities Lead and manage depot-based engineering and maintenance activities Ensure materials availability and implement action plans to address shortages Produce condition, performance, and production reports Review specifications for new and ongoing work Attend incidents and derailments as Recovery Supervisor / Incident Engineer Maintain high standards of Health & Safety, including safety tours and inspections Ensure staff competencies are up to date across CCMS and related systems Oversee plant and equipment compliance across site Manage risk assessments, SSOW, and periodic reviews Drive employee engagement through a transformational leadership style Manage disciplinary and grievance processes in line with company policyAbout You Proven experience leading a large, diverse engineering or maintenance facility Strong traction and rolling stock knowledge IOSH qualification (or equivalent) Accident Investigation and Personal Track Safety certified Background in industrial manufacturing, engineering, fabrication, or welding environments A confident, people-focused leader with strong communication skillsWhat’s On Offer Competitive Salary 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays Defined contribution pension scheme with employer contributions up to 10% Hybrid working model (2–3 days per week depending on business needs) Bonus scheme (non-contractual, performance related) Free on-site parking and EV charging at selected sites Health Cash Plan, Cycle to Work, Fuel & Go schemes Access to learning, development, and professional training programmes Employee benefits portal and wellbeing support, including EAPIf you are interested and would like to be considered for this role, apply right away.
