Production Operations Manager – Precision Engineering

Location: Dorset

An established precision engineering manufacturer is seeking a Production Operations Manager to take ownership of day-to-day manufacturing performance across its operations. This is a senior role with responsibility for leading a sizeable team and playing a key part in the company’s operational leadership.

This opportunity would suit someone currently working in a production or manufacturing leadership role who is ready to step into a broader management position with greater strategic influence.

Key Responsibilities

* Oversee all production activities within the machining department to ensure output targets and delivery schedules are consistently achieved

* Provide leadership, direction, and support to a multiskilled team

* Monitor manufacturing performance and report on key operational metrics to senior management

* Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency, quality, and workflow across precision machining processes

* Work closely with planning, engineering, and supervisory colleagues to streamline production and resolve issues proactively

* Maintain a strong presence on the shop floor, ensuring standards, safety, and productivity expectations are met

Candidate Profile

* Proven experience in a production, manufacturing, or operations leadership role

* Background within a precision machining or engineering environment

* Confident managing teams and coordinating multiple manufacturing priorities

* Comfortable working with senior leadership and contributing to operational decision-making
