Production Operative (Foam Department) Company: CP Cases Ltd Department: Production – Foam Department Location: Isleworth Reporting to: Foam Supervisor / Production Manager Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent Working Hours: 7:30am – 17:00pm (Monday – Thursday) 07:30am – 12:30pm (Friday) About CP Cases Ltd: CP Cases is a leading manufacturer of protective cases, racks, and rugged textile products. As part of our team, you will be contributing to the production of high-quality protective products for critical industries. Job Purpose To manufacture and prepare high-quality custom foam inserts for protective cases, ensuring accurate fitting, excellent finish, and thorough final cleaning and inspection in line with company quality standards and customer requirements. Key Responsibilities Foam Preparation & Cutting * Produce custom foam inserts to specification using templates, drawings, or CAD-based layouts. * Operate foam cutting equipment and hand tools safely and accurately (e.g. hot wire cutters, knives, CNC where applicable). * Measure, mark, and cut foam materials to tight tolerances. * Assemble multi-layer foam sets where required. Fitting & Finishing * Test-fit foam inserts into cases to ensure correct alignment and secure fit. * Adjust and refine foam cut-outs to accommodate customer equipment and accessories. * Ensure all foam components are clean, neatly finished, and free from defects. Final Cleaning & Inspection * Carry out final cleaning of foam inserts and internal case areas prior to dispatch. * Inspect finished products for accuracy, damage, contamination, or quality issues. * Ensure all complete cases meet internal quality standards and customer specifications. * Record or report any defects or non-conformances to the supervisor. Quality, Health & Safety * Follow company quality procedures and work instructions. * Adhere to all health & safety policies, including safe use of cutting equipment and PPE. * Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work area. * Handle materials and finished products in line with manual handling guidelines. Teamwork & General Duties * Work closely with assembly and textiles departments to meet production schedules. * Support colleagues during peak workloads. * Assist with stock handling and basic inventory of foam materials when required. * Participate in training and continuous improvement initiatives. * Undertake other reasonable duties in line with business needs. Person Specification Essential Skills & Experience * Experience in a manufacturing or production environment. * Good manual dexterity and attention to detail. * Ability to follow technical instructions, drawings, or templates. * Ability to work accurately and consistently to deadlines. * Basic literacy and numeracy skills. * Reliable with good timekeeping and attendance. Desirable Skills & Experience * Previous experience working with foam cutting or upholstery materials. * Experience producing custom inserts or packaging solutions. * Familiarity with hot wire cutters, CNC foam machines, or similar equipment. * Experience working in quality-controlled or ISO environments. Exposure to dust and machinery typical of foam cutting and manufacturing environments. Standard working hours with potential overtime during peak periods.
