Production Supervisor

Toyoda Gosei Fluid Systems (TGFS) is seeking a 2nd Shift Production Supervisor to lead our Production team. Responsibilities include leading safety initiatives, meeting daily productivity and quality requirements; maintaining accurate inventory control; supporting and enforcing safety policies; emphasizing a culture of safety at the location overall. This is a leadership position, with hands-on responsibility and accountability for daily production flow and bottom-line results.
Skills/Qualifications
Required competencies, knowledge, skills, education/experience:
High School Diploma or GED; Bachelor's degree or 5+ years of supervisory work experience
Valid driver's license
Authorized to work in the U.S.
Ability to travel to other TG locations as needed for training, etc. (infrequent)
Strong leadership and ability to manage conflict
Effective at providing guidance and direction as required
Strong project/task management skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with all team members and external parties
Required proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook and Excel
Word and PowerPoint
Proper handling of confidential and sensitive information
Effective and timely handling of personnel matters; supporting TG policies and procedures
Ability to give guidance and direction as required
Flexibility to work various hours and weekends
Customer service oriented
Follow up with employees in a timely manner
Strong business acumen
Major Accountabilities
Establish expectations regarding safety and cascade safety messaging throughout team/organization
Must demonstrate behaviors that support TGFS’ mission, vision, and core values
Support Hoshin process for TGFS annually & provide active support with task force(s)
Prioritize quality standards and expectations
Drive TGFS policies and procedure adherence
Implement and enforce safety policies and procedures to minimize workplace accidents and comply with regulatory requirements
Work closely with internal departments to resolve in-house and supplier quality problems using established problem-solving methodologies (Root Cause Analysis, 5Y’s, Mistake-proofing, etc.)
Implement preventive and corrective actions
Provide performance feedback to employees to ensure goals of the plant in relation to Quality, Cost, Delivery and Safety are achieved
On-time completion of performance reviews for team members
Ensure training requirements are met on-time for team members
Lead activities of the production floor ensuring efficient utilization of the labor and equipment while optimizing Quality, Costs, Delivery, and Safety
Establish and maintain effective communication mechanisms within the workplace to enhance relationships and productivity within work teams
Complete reports in a timely manner
Any additional duties as assigned by manager
