Production Support Operative - Devonport Site

We are expanding our workforce at the Devonport site and are seeking motivated individuals to join us as a production support operative on an initial temporary basis. This is a full-time, industrial role offering a fantastic opportunity to develop new skills within a dynamic and safety-focused environment.

The department plays a vital role in supporting operational delivery across the site, contributing to essential marine and engineering activities. Successful candidates will support this strategy by undertaking a variety of tasks and participating in structured training to build capability and competence.

Flexibility is essential, as shift work and overtime will be required to meet business needs.

Main Purpose of the Role

As an operative, you will support a wide range of operational activities across the site. This is a hands-on role requiring a proactive approach, a strong safety mindset, and a willingness to learn and adapt.

Key requirements include:

Full, clean driving licence
Counterbalance FLT licence
Willingness to work at height and in confined spaces
MEWP operator licence (desirable) or willingness to train
Understanding of the business and adherence to processes and procedures
Strong commitment to Health & Safety, including challenging unsafe behaviours
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Willingness to be clean shaven for face fit testing
Flexibility to undertake shift work and overtime
Willingness to work as a Nuclear Reactor Cleaner (for applicable roles)
Good awareness of Health & Safety and COSHH regulations
Knowledge, Skills & Experience

While not essential, the following experience and knowledge would be advantageous. Full training will be provided where required:

Experience working in a marine or industrial environment
Knowledge of submarine and warship layouts
Willingness to complete development training aligned to a competency framework
Ability to adapt and work effectively in a changing environment
