The Role

This is a hands-on Production Team Leader role focused on day-to-day people management and keeping production running safely, smoothly, and to plan within a food manufacturing environment.

You will be responsible for leading a small to medium sized team on shift, ensuring targets are met, standards are followed, and any issues are dealt with quickly and calmly.

Key responsibilities include:

Lead, motivate, and manage production operatives on shift to ensure daily output targets are achieved. Ensure all staff follow food safety, hygiene, GMP, and health and safety standards at all times. Allocate tasks across the shift, managing breaks, absences, and changeovers to maintain continuous production. Act as the first point of contact for any people or production issues on shift. Monitor performance and address basic performance or conduct issues with support from management where needed. Ensure all production paperwork and basic system entries are completed accurately and on time. Support training of new starters and existing team members on processes and standards. Escalate equipment issues, quality concerns, or staffing problems to the appropriate department or manager. Maintain good communication between shifts to ensure smooth handovers. The Person

Previous experience as a Production Team Leader, Supervisor, or Senior Operator in a food or FMCG environment. Comfortable managing people on the shop floor and dealing with day to day issues. Good understanding of food safety, hygiene, and GMP standards. Confident communicator who can give clear instructions and maintain standards. Organised, reliable, and able to remain calm under pressure. Happy working in a fast paced, hands-on manufacturing environment. Preferred but not essential Basic Food Safety or HACCP awareness Experience completing production paperwork or simple systems
