Production Technician Location: St Ives, Cambridgeshire Salary: £24,000 – £27,000 Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
An established engineering and manufacturing business based in St Ives, Cambridgeshire is looking to recruit a Production Technician to join its production team.
This is a varied, hands-on role combining assembly, testing, calibration and continuous improvement activities. It would suit someone with a technical background who enjoys problem-solving and working across multiple product lines in a structured production environment.
The Role As a Production Technician, you will be responsible for building, testing and calibrating assemblies to meet defined quality and safety standards. You’ll also support documentation, troubleshooting and continuous improvement activities within production.
This role offers exposure to both mechanical and electronic systems, with occasional field-based work when required.
Key Responsibilities
Build and test assemblies, including equipment setup and operation Perform minor preventative maintenance and equipment adjustments Inspect and test finished products to ensure compliance with specifications Calibrate products across multiple product ranges Identify mechanical or process issues and support troubleshooting activities Document findings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives Support development and documentation of standard operating procedures Assist with product and process development in collaboration with the Quality team Contribute to production-related software improvements where applicable Produce clear reports and maintain accurate production records Follow all safety regulations and company procedures Provide training to internal and external stakeholders where appropriate Occasionally support field-based activities, including customer site visits What We’re Looking For
Experience in a production, manufacturing or technical assembly environment Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Ability to inspect, analyse and troubleshoot systems or equipment Comfortable running tests and interpreting technical results Good written and verbal communication skills Proactive and solutions-focused mindset Ability to work across multiple product lines Why Apply?
