About the role

As Professional Development Partner you will operate across the full talent development portfolio, including Talent Development, Leadership Development and Talent Management and will work closely with colleagues across the Group to engage, deliver and embed initiatives in support of the wider talent strategy.

This role is people centred by nature, requiring the development and ongoing management of effective stakeholder relationships. The ability to work in partnership with external suppliers, providers and strategic partners, will be critical to successful delivery and ensuring the talent agenda is delivered in a meaningful and impactful way.

The Professional Development Partner will play an active role throughout the colleague journey, from induction and onboarding through to professional development and ongoing career progression. You will support the delivery of the talent management cycle, leadership development programmes, group-wide learning needs analysis, creation of professional development pathways and early career programmes, including apprenticeships, graduate and placement schemes.

This role reports into the Strategic Talent Development Partner but will work closely with the Talent leadership team across the wider portfolio. The role requires an innovative and ambitious approach, playing a key role in connecting the talent portfolio for our customers and leading on delivery.

About You

A confident communicator, with significant experience delivering across the full professional development portfolio. You will thrive in a fast paced and varied role, that requires an agile, innovative and responsive professional, who is confident in operating across a wide range of internal and external stakeholder groups.

Experienced working within a matrix model, partnering senior managers in support of project delivery, you are expected to have a customer-focused mindset, coupled with a passion for people development and experience in bringing multiple development pathways together in a way that effectively supports and drives the wider people strategy. You will be committed to continuous improvement, seeking opportunities to enhance the existing offer through a data-led approach and comfortable taking ownership and accountability for project delivery.

In-depth experience in supporting talent management, leadership development and early career pathway’s is key, alongside an up-to-date working knowledge of the apprenticeship levy (Growth and Skills Fund) and a proven track-record in maximising the value of the levy for the benefit of colleagues and the organisation.
