The Role:

This is an opportunity for an experienced Professional Support Lawyer (PSL) or solicitor with 5-10 years PQE, to join a forward-thinking and expanding practice where you will have a real platform to help shape and enhance the firm’s disputes offering.

Working closely with the Head of Knowledge & Innovation and an experienced Litigation PSL, you will play a key role in ensuring the commercial disputes and class actions teams are equipped with the latest legal developments, practical resources and innovative tools to deliver outstanding client service.

The Head of Knowledge leading this team has previously been responsible for the Knowledge function at a number of global law firms, with over 18 years of experience as a knowledge management professional in various jurisdictions and so you will be among other high-performing individuals.

In this role you’ll contribute to the firm’s knowledge strategy, supporting lawyers through training initiatives, thought leadership and knowledge management projects that strengthen the firm’s disputes offering.

Key responsibilities will be:

• Monitoring markets and legal trends and opportunities for commercial disputes and class actions
• Developing and delivering ad hoc client and/or in-team training
• Assisting lawyers with preparation of materials for internal and external training/speaking events
• Collaborating with the team and Business Development and Marketing to produce a high-quality knowledge-focused website, social media content, and other client-facing client work product
• Assisting lawyers with knowledge-driven content for specific client or project proposals
• Creating and maintaining precedents, templates, standard advice bank
• In coordination with the wider Knowledge team, monitoring emerging litigation technology, evaluating benefits, and providing feedback to the Head of Knowledge & Innovation and partners.
• Contributing to and assisting with the scoping and administration of pilots to test innovation within the team
• Liaising with e-disclosure platform providers, as required
• Raising the external profile and knowledge of the firm and its people

Requirements

• Experienced lawyer (5 – 10 PQE) with strong commercial awareness and technical ability
• Good knowledge of civil procedure, case management and dispute resolution strategies
• Class actions experience (including book-build and funding) is advantageous
• Excellent legal research and drafting skills
• Experience delivering internal and client training
• Interest in legal technology and improving efficiencies within dispute practices
• Strong understanding of how law firms operate commercially
• Excellent communication, organisation and attention to detail
• Collaborative with strong interpersonal skills
• Proactive and self-motivated, able to take ownership of projects while working independently when required
• Ability to build connections across dispute teams and wider practice groups
