A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Effector Controller Project Engineer (RMO) to join a department developing cutting-edge Laser Directed Energy Weapon systems.
This role is responsible for the delivery of a rack-mounted Command and Control Processing Unit, including the rack infrastructure the processing unit is installed within, and reports to the Head of Equipment as part of the wider Chief Design Engineer’s organisation.
Key Responsibilities:

Deliver the processing unit, rack infrastructure, and integrated sub-systems.
*
Accept the physical definition of the hardware.
*
Deliver the technical and certification documentation.
*
Support the functional integration of the hardware within the wider sub-system definition.
*
Act as the technical interface between the project organisation and the equipment Design Authority.
*
Provide leadership to ensure weapon system equipment is designed, accepted, and delivered to meet system performance and project commitments.
The ideal candidate would have:
*
Experience in hardware delivery and physical certification of complex systems.
*
Understanding of subsystem functionality to support product delivery, including software.
*
Familiarity with systems engineering processes, requirements, design, and performance analysis.
*
Ability to work in a dynamic programme with multiple parallel technology development streams.
The ideal candidate must have:
*
Strong technical focus and project delivery experience.
*
Ability to balance client-facing representation with technical leadership.
*
Experience with integrated weapon system or defence programmes.
