Are you a senior construction leader with a proven track record delivering major, mission-critical schemes? Do you thrive in technically demanding environments where leadership, strategy, and precision are paramount?
I’m recruiting on behalf of an outstanding regional construction business to appoint a Project Director to lead the delivery of a flagship data centre project in Central London, with an estimated site value of c. £200m.
This is a pivotal, high-profile role within the business and represents a rare opportunity to take ownership of one of the most significant projects in its portfolio.
️ The Role
As Project Director, you will have full responsibility for the successful end-to-end delivery of this landmark data centre project, from pre-construction through to completion and handover. You will act as the senior client-facing lead, setting project strategy, driving programme and commercial performance, and ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and technical excellence.
Working closely with internal teams, consultants, and key supply-chain partners, you will lead a large, multidisciplinary delivery team and report directly at board level.
Key responsibilities include:
Overall leadership and governance of a £200m+ data centre project Acting as the primary interface with the client, consultants, and stakeholders Driving programme certainty, risk management, and commercial control Leading and mentoring senior project, commercial, and site teams Ensuring best-in-class standards in health & safety, quality, sustainability, and commissioning Representing the business on a flagship scheme within a competitive, high-profile London market
✅ Ideal Candidate Profile
Proven experience as a Project Director / Senior Project Director delivering major projects (£100m+) Strong background in data centres, mission-critical, or highly serviced technical buildings Excellent commercial awareness and experience managing complex delivery strategies Confident operating at client, board, and investor level Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills Experience delivering projects in live or constrained urban environments
