Project Engineer Summary We are seeking a skilled Project Engineer with a strong background in civil engineering to join a team delivering complex infrastructure projects within the MEICA and Civils sectors, specifically aligned with the AMP 8 United Utilities framework. The role involves managing and coordinating all aspects of project delivery from inception through to completion, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. The successful candidate will oversee construction phases, manage design teams, liaise with clients and subcontractors, and ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements. This position requires a hands-on approach to programme management, quality control, health and safety oversight, and effective communication across multidisciplinary teams. Experience in water and wastewater infrastructure projects, particularly within the MEICA and civil engineering disciplines, is essential. Skills Civil engineering expertise (mandatory) Project management and delivery within MEICA and Civils sectors Experience working on AMP 8 United Utilities framework projects Strong knowledge of NEC contracts and CDM regulations Construction programme development and management (e.g., Primavera P6) Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) compliance and site safety management Design coordination and management, including design team leadership Procurement and subcontractor management Quality assurance and control of workmanship and materials Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and team leadership skills Software/Tools Primavera P6 or equivalent project scheduling software Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project) BIM software familiarity (desirable) Certifications & Standards Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or related discipline SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) – required CSCS Manager’s Card – required First Aid at Work – required Knowledge of NEC contract suite and CDM 2015 regulations Temporary Works Coordinator (desirable) NEBOSH Construction Certificate (desirable)
