Summary
We are seeking multiple Project Engineers to join the Stansted Transformation Programme, working across various projects that include both design and on-site construction activities. The role involves managing design coordination, reviewing contractor drawings, and ensuring timely resolution of technical queries. You will oversee on-site construction to maintain compliance with safety and quality standards, identify and manage defects and non-conformances, and review contractor documentation such as RAMS, Construction Phase Plans, and CEMPs. Close collaboration with Construction Managers, contractors, and stakeholders, including the Airfield Change Manager, is essential to ensure smooth project execution. Monitoring and validating progress against site activities, providing technical expertise on construction methodologies, and advising on contractual matters such as Early Warning Notices and Compensation Events are key responsibilities. Candidates must be willing to be on-site at Stansted Airport up to three days per week.

A strong civil engineering background is essential, particularly experience in groundworks and piling. Experience in fit-out projects within aviation or transport infrastructure is highly desirable.

Skills
Proven experience in fit-out projects, ideally within aviation or transport infrastructure
Strong civil engineering background with expertise in groundworks and piling
Design coordination and document control (e.g., Aconex)
Ability to manage technical reviews and resolve design-related queries
On-site construction oversight and quality assurance
Defect and non-conformance identification and management
Stakeholder management and effective communication
Knowledge of construction methodologies and techniques
Contractual awareness including Early Warning Notices and Compensation Events
Willingness to work on-site at Stansted Airport up to three days per week
Software/Tools
Aconex (or similar document control systems)
Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Certifications & Standards
Chartered Engineer status (or working towards) preferred
Relevant health and safety certifications (e.g., SMSTS) desirable
Familiarity with airport operational and safety standards advantageous
