Working as part of the project engineering delivery team, the Project Engineer is responsible for planning, managing, and delivering the technical aspects of projects. The role involves establishing project criteria, coordinating engineering reviews, and ensuring the proper implementation of technical requirements are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality and HSSSE standards. The remit covers supplier selection and evaluation through to direct delivery of engineering/design and implementation scope for selected projects.

The Project Engineer combines a broad understanding of multiple engineering disciplines to manage and coordinate all technical activities and requirements for assigned projects or work packages. This ensures the delivery of integrated, fit-for-purpose technical solutions, maintaining project accuracy, quality, and cost control from conception through to completion.

Key responsibilities include delivering proportionate design engineering solutions compliant with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and relevant legislation. The role requires coordination of technical developments, scheduling, and resolution of design and testing issues, controlling expenditures within project budgets, and supporting the review and acceptance of supplier and contractor documentation.

The Project Engineer ensures timely reporting on technical scope performance, manpower requirements, and risks, while coordinating engineering design, construction, and manufacturing activities for on-site delivery. Working closely with Project Engineering Managers, Project Managers, and Construction Managers, the role ensures all engineering works meet quality and HSSSE requirements, with design and construction reviews conducted in accordance with company procedures.

The role also involves ensuring adequate technical resources are available, managing adherence to project quality plans, pre-qualifying contractors, managing scope deviations, evaluating design changes, and escalating resource conflicts. The Project Engineer delivers engineering/design scope to meet project safety, cost, schedule, and business objectives, ensuring integrated cross-discipline schedules and managing technical solutions to problems during design and execution phases.
