Project Engineer
The Company
A leading engineering company who design, manufacture and install special purpose machinery.
The Role
This is an office-based role with visits to customer sites being part of the role. Overnight UK trips, and overseas travel may also be a requirement of this position. In some cases, the Project engineer may be required to oversee the installation on site and manage subcontractors, in the UK or abroad.
The primary duty of the Project Engineer is to take responsibility for contracts from the receipt of order through to successful install and handover. This will involve a close working relationship with the client and all internal departments
The work will include the following:
- Develop and agree the Project Scope with the customer and sales team.
- Own and maintain the project schedule (Gantt chart).
- Produce project documentation (internal project numbers, Scope of Supply, timing plan, P&ID, BOM’s, and provisional Layout Drawings).
- Specifying and sourcing bought out components and equipment.
- Organise delivery and installation of the equipment
- Remain commercially aware throughout the life of the project, ensuring that invoices are issued on time.
The project Engineer will be the primary point of contact for the customer throughout the life of the project, up to, and even beyond, the successful close out of the project.
The Candidate
To apply for this role, you must have
1. Experience in a similar role in a process engineering environment, ideally in the Food Processing Industry.
2. Proven history of running successful engineering projects.
3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact with all parts of the business internally.
4. Proficient in the use ofAutocad LT.
5. A knowledge of Steam systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, and pipework, along with a basic understanding of electrical control systems would be highly beneficial.
