Are you an experienced Project Engineer with a flair for mechanical design and a track record of delivering successful engineering projects? This is your chance to join a growing UK engineering business specialising in conveyors, special purpose machinery, and integrated recycling systems—working on innovative projects from concept to commissioning.\n\nAbout the Role:\n\nReporting to the Head of Projects, you’ll be responsible for the full engineering life cycle of bespoke machinery and materials handling projects. You’ll be hands-on from the very first sketch through to final commissioning, ensuring designs are efficient, compliant, and delivered on time.\n\nResponsibilities:\n\n * Designing and detailing bespoke conveyor systems, structures, and sheet metal fabrications using SolidWorks & AutoCAD\n\n * Integrating third-party equipment (shredders, magnets, optical sorters) into complete plant layouts\n\n * Producing GA drawings, manufacturing drawings, and BOMs for production\n\n * Managing costs, materials, and project schedules\n\n * Visiting customer sites in the UK and abroad for surveys, installation, and commissioning\n\n * Collaborating closely with sales, manufacturing, and project teams to deliver high-quality solutions\n\n * Continuously improving designs, processes, and cost-effectiveness\n\nExperience Required:\n\n * HNC (or higher) in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering\n\n * Experience with conveyor or special purpose machinery design\n\n * Proficiency in SolidWorks & AutoCAD (2D & 3D)\n\n * Strong knowledge of sheet metal, structural steel, and fabrication design\n\n * Understanding of pneumatics, hydraulics, and basic electrical principles\n\n * Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset\n\n * Experience with ERP/MRP systems\n\n * Confident communication with customers, suppliers, and internal teams
