Job Description
The Project Manager will oversee and manage various projects in accordance with company objectives and procedures. Responsibilities include leading projects from inception to completion, ensuring work is completed to specifications, within budget, and on time. The role involves managing direct labor and contractors, and being based on-site to ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations.
The candidate will work on delivering civils, earthworks, piling, drainage, and rail schemes nationwide.
Requirements
- Professional qualifications such as SMSTS, CSCS Gold/Black Card, HNC/HND/Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction-related discipline (preferred)
- Experience as a Project Manager/Site Manager delivering civils or rail schemes
The Role
Location: Leeds (willing to travel nationwide)
Working setup: 3 days in the office, 2 days WFH when not on site
Duties Involved
- Pre-contract planning and liaison with estimators
- Planning, programming, and resourcing contracts
- Identifying tender and financial opportunities
- Delegating duties to engineering and contracts staff
- Managing claims and variations
- Contract and subcontract management
- Preparing payment applications and final accounts
- Providing input to regional management and planning meetings
- Managing projects to meet financial, safety, quality, and environmental targets
- Reviewing monthly improvement plans with bid and pre-construction specialists
- Monitoring subcontract liabilities, applications, and payments
- Assisting with supply chain approvals and performance reviews
- Liaising and negotiating with clients, engineers, surveyors, subcontractors
- Preparing contract plans, safety plans, method statements, risk assessments
