Project Manager Construction / Design Manager (Zone 1 London) Up to £90,000 per annum + health, pension, travel and bonus *Have you considered specialising?* Our Client would be interested to explore candidates who have a good all-round understanding of building/construction, from either a tier 1 or 2 contracting background or specialist contractor*They are a long-established name in the field of specialist contracting and have a rare opportunity for a Design Manager to join their highly professional team and play a key role in their continued success and future development. The requirement is for a self-motivated Design Manager using their specialist skills on landmark projects to include listed buildings and heritage works. Its likely this person will be working for another specialist contractor or main contractor with a good all-round knowledge of construction to including external works, in particular building envelopes and the various systems to include access and temporary works in the confines of inner London. This key role will involve the responsibility for design co-ordination of packages up to circa £10million in value on major building projects in London working with tier 1 contractors and coordination of project teams. At the same time, you will have the ability to delegate and use external resources where required. Key responsibilities:- -Attend precontract construction meetings-Cost value engineering -Interpret Contracts-Create Design Scope-Develop design programme -Layouts -Detailed designs for various components -Manage subcontractors and appointing-Quality AssuranceExcellent long-term future prospects within an expanding department can be offered. This is a site based role and will require candidates to be within a commutable distance of Zone 1 on the underground or South East London to attend office meetings.
