This role is advertised as part of our BBC Extend programme for disabled people. CONTRACT TYPE: Permanent
LOCATION:London – Hybrid
PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £41,000 - £51,000 + London Weighting depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

JOB PURPOSE
Join our dynamic team as a Project Manager, where you’ll lead the delivery of impactful projects across digital, TV and audio platforms. You’ll drive outcomes that matter, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. This role is central to enabling innovation and operational excellence for the BBC World Service Audience Team.

The BBC World Service delivers a multi-platform news offering in English and 41 other languages, reaching hundreds of millions of people globally across digital, TV, and audio platforms. Reporting to the Head of Audiences Insight, BBC World Service, the post holder will lead the delivery of key projects—many with the potential to drive significant transformation. They will be responsible for managing multiple initiatives aimed at understanding current and future audiences worldwide, and will support the team in planning projects that track and interpret societal, cultural, and technological trends.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:
- Lead one or more projects or workstreams, ensuring delivery within agreed scope, time, cost, and quality.
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Mobilise and manage project teams, including third-party resources.
- Identify and manage risks, issues, dependencies, and changes.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders and governance forums.
- Ensure compliance with relevant policies, standards, and procedures.
- Support benefits realisation and handover to business owners.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
- Proven experience managing projects or workstreams to successful outcomes, ideally within a 6–18 month timeframe.
- Demonstrable experience in leading teams, managing risk, and tracking progress using project management tools (e.g. MS Project, JIRA).
- Recognised project management qualification or equivalent experience (e.g. PRINCE2, APMP, Agile certification).
- Strong working knowledge of project lifecycle methodologies and techniques.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and using data to inform decision-making and reporting.
DESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRED
- Experience delivering projects in fast-changing, complex environments.
- Understanding of organisational transformation and change management.
- Experience managing projects with budgets of £50k+ and teams of 3+ people.
- Knowledge of the media sector and broadcast/digital technologies.
