Location: London

Type: Full-time, hybrid

Salary: £60,000-£75,000 (+benefits)

About the Role

Sentinel is partnering with a globally recognised construction and programme management consultancy, known for delivering some of the UK’s most complex and high-profile capital projects across infrastructure and the built environment. Their healthcare team is a long-established, high-performing unit delivering major capital programmes across acute, specialist, and community healthcare settings. With a strong pipeline of secured work and long-term client relationships, they are playing a key role in modernising healthcare estates and supporting long-term investment strategies across the UK.

We are seeking a Project Manager to join their London-based team, working on complex healthcare construction and redevelopment schemes. This is an opportunity to work alongside sector specialists with deep expertise in delivering technically challenging projects within operational environments - ideal for someone from a consultancy background who enjoys navigating complexity and driving meaningful outcomes.

The firm is known for its strong focus on career development, promoting from within, and providing structured learning and development opportunities. Employees also have the chance to broaden their experience by working on projects both nationally and internationally, gaining exposure to diverse sectors and complex delivery environments.

Responsibilities

You will play a central role in delivering healthcare construction projects across the full project lifecycle - from early feasibility and business case development through to procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover.

Projects may include:

  • Large-scale hospital redevelopment and expansion programmes
  • New-build clinical facilities and treatment centres
  • Refurbishment and reconfiguration projects within live hospital environments
  • Specialist clinical spaces requiring high levels of technical coordination
  • Multi-phased capital works programmes delivered under tight operational constraints

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading project delivery across all RIBA stages, ensuring programme, cost, and quality objectives are achieved
  • Acting as a key interface between client stakeholders, design teams, contractors, and specialist consultants
  • Managing governance processes, reporting structures, and stakeholder engagement across complex organisational environments
  • Overseeing procurement strategies and contract administration (including NEC forms where applicable)
  • Managing risk registers, change control, cash flow forecasting, and commercial performance
  • Ensuring works are carefully coordinated within live healthcare environments, balancing construction activity with operational continuity
  • Supporting and mentoring junior team members while contributing to a collaborative, high-performance team culture

Skills & Experience

  • Demonstrable experience delivering hospital or healthcare construction projects in the UK
  • Consultancy-side background or similar commercial experience
  • Strong understanding of project controls, risk management, and commercial governance
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Commercially astute and confident in contract administration
