Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of a highways infrastructure project in Bristol. You will hold full responsibility for programme, cost, quality, and health & safety, ensuring efficient delivery of highways and associated works while maintaining strong relationships with clients, local authorities, and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

* Take full ownership of delivering transportation infrastructure projects safely, on programme, and within budget

* Lead and coordinate site teams, including Site Managers, Engineers, Supervisors, and Foremen

* Oversee delivery of highways, roads, drainage, and associated utility works

* Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, local authorities, and key stakeholders

* Chair progress meetings and provide clear, accurate reporting to senior leadership

* Plan and manage subcontractors, labour, plant, and materials in line with programme requirements

* Work closely with the commercial team to manage variations, valuations, and overall cost control

* Ensure full compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards, particularly within live traffic environments

* Monitor programme performance and proactively manage risks, delays, and logistical challenges

* Drive efficient delivery in line with traffic management constraints and public interface requirements

* Complete company IT systems induction and training within the first 1–3 months

Requirements

* Section 278 Works experience a Essential

* CITB SMSTS (5-Day) or equivalent

* First Aid at Work certification

* Proven experience as a Project Manager or Senior Site Manager within transportation infrastructure or highways projects

* Strong knowledge of highways construction, drainage, utilities, and traffic management

* Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills

* Experience managing projects in live or public-facing environments

* Strong commercial awareness and ability to manage costs effectively

* Reliable, proactive, and solution-focused approach

* Right to work in the UK

Desirable

* Degree, HNC, or HND in Civil Engineering or Construction Management

* Experience delivering transportation infrastructure or highways projects valued at £5m+

* NRSWA (Street Works) qualification
