We Build Recruitment are now looking to recruit a Project Manager on behalf of our client, a specialist construction company focusing on HMO (House in Multiple Occupation) and flat conversions within the social housing sector. With a strong reputation for delivering high‑quality projects, we are now looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organised and driven professional to lead our project delivery and play a key role in our continued growth.


The Role

As Senior Project Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the delivery of multiple HMO conversion projects from start to finish, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high standard. You will manage multiple stakeholders, coordinate teams, and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations. In addition to managing your own projects, you will oversee and mentor other Project Managers and Site Managers, ensuring a consistent approach and sharing best practice across all projects.


Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Coordination

  • Work with surveyors, architects, and engineers to develop project plans.
  • Manage and approve building plans, budgets, and schedules.
  • Ensure all projects comply with building regulations and health & safety standards.
  • Provide operational oversight across a portfolio of live projects.

Team & Site Management

  • Hire and oversee subcontractors, trades, and site teams.
  • Create work schedules and monitor project progress.
  • Ensure health & safety protocols are followed on-site.
  • Line manage, mentor and support other Project Managers and Site Managers.
  • Provide clear leadership to site teams, resolving escalated issues and ensuring resources are effectively allocated.

Project Delivery & Compliance

  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to a high standard.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any project challenges.
  • Maintain clear documentation and reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and resource management at a senior level.
  • Act as a key point of contact for senior leadership, providing regular progress updates on all live projects.


What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in Project Management within construction, property development, or refurbishment projects.
  • Experience managing HMO conversions (preferred but not essential).
  • Strong knowledge of building plans, surveying, and construction regulations.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Previous experience leading or mentoring other Project Managers or Site Managers is highly desirable.
  • Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills.


Relevant qualifications such as:

  • Degree, Foundation Degree, or HND in Construction Management, Building Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field (CIOB recognised).
  • SMSTS, CSCS Black Card, or CIOB Membership (preferred but not essential).
