Astute's Renewables Team is partnering with a well-established and experienced renewable energy company with a strong track record of success. They manage every stage of their projects in-house, from development and design to construction and operation, ensuring efficiency and quality throughout. As their portfolio continues to expand, they are seeking a Project Manager to support pre-construction on commercial solar sites nationwide. The strategically important Project Manager role comes with a salary of £42,000-£45,000, plus discretionary bonus, pension, and additional benefits. Responsibilities and duties of the Project Manager role Reporting to the Head of Project Development you will: Assist projects across their full lifecycle, from initial development to pre-construction, supporting the sales team with proposals and client engagement. Identify and evaluate potential sites for solar projects, considering infrastructure, environmental impact, legal and regulatory requirements, and financial feasibility. Support the project development process, including land acquisition, permits, stakeholder engagement, and project completion. Track project milestones, adjust schedules as needed, and proactively solve problems to keep projects on track. Collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure smooth project execution. Support legal negotiations and operational strategies, working with lawyers to drive projects to legal conclusion. Maintain client relationships, keeping them updated with project developments. Attend prospective client teams to support sales presentations (backing the sales team, not leading). Professional qualifications We are looking for someone with the following: Previous project management experience, ideally in solar or renewable energy. Understanding of permitting, land acquisition, and legal requirements. Engineering experience is desirable but not essential. Personal skills The Project Manager role would suit someone who is: Organised, self-motivated, and able to work independently. A critical thinker with strong problem-solving abilities. Comfortable using initiative and thinking for themselves. An excellent communicator, both verbal and written.
