Job Description
Project Manager Job – Wisbech – New-build School - £70,000 Plus Package
Your new company You’ll be joining a highly respected Tier 1 contractor with a strong track record delivering major public‑sector schemes across the UK, particularly within the education, healthcare and defence sectors. The business is known for its collaborative approach, commitment to sustainability, and its ability to successfully deliver complex projects on time and within budget.They place a strong emphasis on building long‑term client relationships, investing in their people, and fostering a supportive, stable working environment. With a reputation for high‑quality construction and consistent repeat business, they have secured a £22m new‑build school project in Wisbech, scheduled to begin on site in March and are now seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead this flagship development.
Your new role As Project Manager, you will take ownership of the full project lifecycle, managing the scheme from pre‑construction through to handover. Based on site five days a week, you will lead the delivery team, drive programme performance, oversee subcontractor coordination, ensure adherence to health & safety standards, and maintain strong communication with stakeholders and the client team.This is a key leadership role offering the chance to take charge of a major education project from start to completion.
What you'll need to succeed
Demonstrable experience managing large‑scale construction projects (circa £15m+ )
Strong on‑site leadership skills with the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams
Solid understanding of programme management, quality assurance, and H&S compliance
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
A proactive and solutions‑focused mindset
Relevant construction qualifications (SMSTS, CSCS, First Aid)
