Project Manager – Waste Water

This major water sector utilities contractor is looking to appoint a Project Manager to lead delivery on a range of waste water sector projects in Devon & Cornwall. You will take full ownership for schemes ranging in value from £5M to £10M on the South West Water framework, based from offices on the outskirts of Exeter.

As Project Manager you will:

As Project Manager delivery waste water schemes, you will manage operational delivery on a range of wastewater projects on behalf of South West Water. You will manage in-house and subcontract delivery teams to make sure schemes are delivered safely, on time, to specification and within budget, while maintaining excellent customer and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

* Take ownership of end-to-end delivery of wastewater projects, ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality requirements.

* Plan and programme works, monitor progress and provide accurate updates, forecasts and reports to the client and internal stakeholders.

* Manage project financials including cost control, forecasting and Profit & Loss performance across your portfolio in support of Regional Framework Lead.

* Lead and coordinate design, construction and commercial inputs to deliver schemes efficiently and to required standards.

* Procure, brief and manage subcontractors, ensuring they meet safety, quality and commercial expectations.

* Ensure robust documentation and governance from project initiation through to completion and handover.

* Identify and manage project risks and opportunities, driving corrective actions and continuous improvement.

* Support the development of your team, promoting a positive safety culture and high standards of performance and behaviour.

What you need

* Experience delivering projects in utilities, ideally wastewater or wider water networks/civils.

* Strong project management skills with a track record of delivering programmes to time, cost and quality.

* Good understanding of health, safety and environmental requirements; relevant qualification is an advantage.

* Financial and commercial awareness, with experience managing budgets and P&L performance.

* Effective communicator with strong stakeholder and subcontractor management skills.

* Good IT skills (e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel, project reporting systems).

* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites across the region.
