Assystem have a proud heritage gained over decades both in the UK and overseas, (delivering, supporting, managing) some of the most complex engineering projects in decommissioning, repurposing legacy assets and key new build projects such as Hinkley Point C. \n\nJob Description\n\nSummary of the Role\n\nThe Project Manager /NEC3 Supervisor is responsible to the Senior Project Manager and has a key role in supporting the overall management and coordination of this capital infrastructure project.
The Project manager element of the role requirements is to assists in strategic planning, risk management, and quality control throughout the project lifecycle. Effective communication with stakeholders, contractors, and team members is paramount, as is the ability to adapt to unforeseen challenges and changes in project scope. This position requires a strong understanding of project management principles and a proactive approach to problem-solving, contributing to the successful execution of capital infrastructure initiatives.
The candidate will be required to deliver at pace and demonstrate effective application of programme and project management skills, tools and techniques. \n\nFor the NEC3 Supervisor element of the role, we are looking for an experienced NEC3/4 construction supervisor to support delivery of project which sits within a nuclear safeguarding setting. You will work collaboratively to ensure construction activities are delivered to the highest quality and safety standards. Previous experience on a large civil engineering project is essential as well as being a dedicated and motivated Supervisor.
The work you will do will give you exposure to senior stakeholders and project teams, you will be part of a highly skilled and ambitious team.\n\nMain Responsibilities\n\nSupport the Project Manager (PM) in the administration and management of NEC contracts (ECI, ECC & Short Form).\n\nAssist in managing project financial performance, controlling expenditure against approved budgets and updating forecasts. \n\nContribute to project assurance and gateway reviews, providing confidence to senior leadership and stakeholders.\n\nMonitor contractor, technical support provider, and supply chain performance against contractual obligations.\n\nMaintain productive working relationships with the supply chain throughout delivery. \n\n Commercial & Cost Control\n\nReview and challenge duration and cost estimates, identifying critical dates and risks.\n\nApply financial metrics to track cost trends and forecast final costs.\n\nReview and assess proposed changes, determining high-level impacts and advising on options.\n\nMaintain accurate site records to support commercial processes (e.g.
daily diaries).\n\nManage site-based records and document control.\n\n Contract & Site Oversight\n\nAct in accordance with NEC3 ECC principles, promoting mutual trust and respect.\n\nConduct inspections and tests to ensure compliance with the Scope.\n\nAttend Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT).\n\nNotify and manage defects through to completion and defects date.\n\nMark Equipment, Plant and Materials for payment purposes where applicable.\n\nAdvise the PM of any contractor performance concerns.\n\n Health, Safety & Quality\n\nMonitor Contractor Health & Safety performance on site and attend safety meetings.\n\nReview Test & Commissioning documentation and manage commissioning team outputs.\n\nPrepare quality performance reports and track Quality KPIs.\n\nSupport lessons learned capture and tracking throughout the project lifecycle.\n\n Stakeholder & Operational Support\n\nLiaise with base personnel and stakeholders to ensure efficient project delivery.\n\nSupport project optioneering and problem-solving activities.\n\nAssist contractors in navigating base permit systems and training certification requirements.\n\nQualifications\n\nEssential Skills & Experience\n\nMinimum 5 years’ post-graduate experience in engineering or project delivery roles.\n\nStrong technical background with engineering or project management qualifications (ONC/OND or equivalent in Civil Engineering or related discipline).\n\nExcellent working knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 contracts and understanding of CDM and Health & Safety regulations.\n\nSMSTS and CITB CSCS certified.\n\nHigh attention to detail with a collaborative, solution-focused approach. \n\n⭐ Desirable\n\nExperience working on ONR/DNR regulated sites.\n\nHNC/HND (or higher) in Civil Engineering or related discipline.\n\nNEC4 Supervisor accreditation and/or NEC PM accreditation.\n\nIOSH Managing Safely and First Aid certification.\n\nMembership of a relevant professional body.\n\nAPM PMQ (or higher).\n\nAdditional Information\n\nWhy join the community of Switchers?:\n\n The Group is currently ranked Third in the world for nuclear engineering.\n\n A dynamic career management policy to enable our employees to progress through our five business lines: operations, project, technical, sales and support functions\n\n Provide opportunities to work on exciting, global projects\n\n Access to an employee assistance programme with free mindfulness, health, wellbeing resources and a confidential support line available 24/7 via phone or text\n\n Discount vouchers for days out and restaurants, eye test and glasses vouchers, cycle to work scheme, free flu jabs\n\nSecurity clearance:\n\nDue to the nature of work to be undertaken applicants will be required to meet certain criteria in order to attain a minimum level of UK security clearance if not already security cleared to a minimum SC level.\n\nWe are committed to equal treatment of candidates and promote, as well as foster all forms of within our company.
