Our client, an established Tier 1 civil engineering contractor operating in the water industry, is seeking a Project Manager to join their delivery team. This multi-accredited and high-profile organisation has a strong pipeline of work in the water sector, delivering projects valued between £1m-£15m directly for Severn Trent Water, and offers excellent opportunities for career progression and professional development. With a healthy orderbook of AMP8 works, they are actively looking to strengthen their delivery team.
This is a full-time permanent position based in the Worcestershire area with the option for hybrid and flexible working.
Your new role
As Project Manager, your responsibilities will include:
- Producing financial forecasts, monitoring and controlling project costs and cost reporting, and producing monthly reports to the Contracts Manager
- Delivering projects from design phase through to completion, including all handover documentation
- Reviewing project progress, budget resources and planning
- Ensuring production and implementation of project plans, risk assessments, method statements, site waste management plans and procurement of plant and materials are in line with company procedures
- Reviewing work packages and ensuring the scope of work is defined and understood
- Chairing weekly site meetings and ensuring production of accurate records of any discussions and actions
- Building and maintaining good relationships with framework suppliers, design consultants and the client
- Developing and maintaining construction programmes with staff
- Ensuring detailed site diaries/records are completed.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful, you must have:
- Proven successful experience managing projects from inception through to completion in the water industry
- Good knowledge of CDM regulations, design management, programme and risk management, and cost control, including forecasting, actual cost and value reporting
- CSCS, SMSTS and First Aid
- Knowledge of NEC form of contract including early warning and compensation event mechanisms
- Strong interpersonal, organisational and people management skills
- Full UK driving licence.
