Project Manager

New Yesterday

Right across infrastructure, there’s a requirement to not only maintain, but also renew and reimagine. Whatever stage you’re at in your career, with us you’ll have an opportunity to grow and develop. Delivering essential infrastructure services for life, while being safety first, and client and customer centric in a  friendly, fun and respectful environment where you are encouraged to thrive.

Where you’ll be working?

We help our clients safeguard the water supply, improve environmental performance and manage demand for future generations. We enhance and extend asset life, ensuring compliance with water quality and environmental standards.  We’re problem solvers with over 140 years of combined experience in engineering and infrastructure.

This role will be within our water and wastewater capital project delivery team. Our teams deliver large-scale capital programmes aimed at keeping water infrastructure resilient for the long-term while protecting the environment.

What you'll be doing?

You'll play a key role in our trunk main delivery programme, coordinate seamlessly across design, planning, construction, commercial, permitting, traffic management, and commissioning.

You'll own the end‑to‑end delivery of the trunk main package, ensuring performance against time, cost, quality, and safety targets. This includes establishing project governance, maintaining programme baselines, and driving risk and opportunity management.

You’ll also lead CDM compliance and Principal Contractor duties, ensuring robust RAMS, permits, safe systems of work, and a strong safe‑by‑design approach.

You’ll act as the primary day‑to‑day interface with Thames Water, managing progress reporting, change control, assurance gates, and operational constraints.

You’ll produce and manage an integrated programme across design, permitting, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning—protecting the critical path, productivity, and delivery certainty. With ownership of budget, forecasting, change control, and subcontract performance, you will set clear expectations for the site team. Fostering a high‑performing culture built on behavioural safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

What you’ll bring?

  • Do you have a degree/HNC/HND or equivalent in Civil Engineering or Construction?
  • Do you have Institute of Leadership and Management Level 5 or equivalent?
  • Have you gained your NEBOSH National Certificate (General or Construction)?
  • Experienced manager with proven track record in leading multidiscipline teams
